Why do we have them? I understand having them when there are not enough marshalls. But when there is one in every corner track call should be limited to under the bridge, if there is a bridge, or drivers panel.
Most times when someone calls track they do it because they are worried they dont want to lose laps to whom ever, but they should lose time, THEY CRASHED, thats is suppose to be what happens.
I know some tracks have rules that drivers are not to call TRACK, which is great, but there is no penalty for doing so, so then why have a rule if there is no penalty for breaking it.
I know there is a way to add to the race program whrere when there is a track call that the race doesnt stop, it just puts out a lower voltage to slow every one down. that seems to be a good idea.
I know some are not going to like my opinion but those are the ones who probably are known for calling track the most.
I would just like to see it where the only person that can stop the race is the director, and at least a one lap penalty for any driver that calls track.

Hardeight, I am in total agreement with you. Track calls should only be called if no marshal can not get the car. There was a big post on Slotblog about this and no clear answer. You can control the race with them and you can not make up laps on drivers with drivers calling track calls all the time. I feel it is up to the track owner/operator to control this. And I will say the best I have seen at this was John Forester. He did not care who's car came off, unless the corner marshal could not get the cars he killed the power and as soon as the track was clear power came back on. Shirley at Lagrange does the same and I feel it makes the races closer.
If I have a ten lap lead and I wreck, most of the time I will lose at least 1 or two laps before I get going again. If you kill the power then no one can make that up. BUT the only way this works is the race operate has to have a BLIND EYE to who is driver and everyone is treated the same. If you don't have track calls you learn real fast not to wreck.
Now as far as cutting power to 6v for track calls, I don't agree with that at all. Ask Eddie Mac way he does not use it that much anymore. Smart drivers set there cars up to run almost as fast on less power. The most I have made up on someone on 6v is 2 to 3 laps on Eddie Macs track. While other cars slow down I am still fast and there are other drivers that have been doing the same. So it will piss other drivers off that don't know what we are doing.
When I have a bad night I want more track calls but when I am doing good I don't want any...Go fiqure ,lol But new drivers need and will have track calls,as do many of us.
Just my 2 cents

I agree that track calls are frustrating sometimes but it is a hard subject to manage. I fully agree at big races but at local races especially when you have new racers it makes them less enthusiastic about the sport if they get further and further behind. It would great if we had enough racers to have a and b main races to separate the more experienced drivers but I personally enjoy racing with drivers of all ranges of experience because it makes you a better driver I think. I haven't been able to be much competition for a while but we will be back soon. We did race on Saturday and since we didn't have corner workers we started the race and everyone corner worked there own car when they crashed talk about making you try to stay on that will do it. We had a great time and everyone had the same treatment. If you crash go and get it. Lots of fun and laughs
